The former director of the CIA and the National Security Agency (NSA) Michael Hayden considers that the decree of US President Donald Trump on tightening migration policy does harm to US intelligence – RT reports.
As The Washington Post reports, Hayden considers that Trump’s decree is “poorly thought-out, hard to realize and badly explained”.
“I heard from many intelligence experts that they will have to stand the consequences. They identified six out of seven countries, falling under the decree (Iran is some exception), which are disadvantaged and troubled countries, where human resources have major importance for overcoming US threats”, - he claimed.
According to former CIA director, the officials of intelligence agencies told him that Trump’s decree “shattered faith of informers, many of which risked to keep the USA secure”.
“In the Middle East, where the countries’ culture is based on the honor, it is easier to recruit somebody, in whom we shoot, than the one, whose community was offended”, Hayden emphasized.
Previously The Washington Post informed that US Ministry of Justice sees the harm to the community in Trump’s Immigration Decree.
On February 3, Seattle’s Federal Judge James Robart suspended the decree. Trump called the judge’s decision laughable and claimed that it will be challenged.
According to the order, signed by Trump on January 27, the USA temporarily banned the entry for the citizens of Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Lebanon, Somali, Iraq and Iran. In addition, the country suspended the admission of refugees.
