United States Department of State noted that the beginning of dialogue with North Korea is possible only after they give consent to nuclear disarmament.
Spokesperson for the United States Department of State Heather Nauert said at the briefing that for starting negotiations with the USA, North Korea should demonstrate the seriousness of its intentions on denuclearization, Correspondent.net reports quoting RIA News.
“We would like to conduct negotiations with DPRK’s Leader Kim Jong-un when it is time. When they demonstrate that they have serious intentions to move towards denuclearization. We have not seen it yet”, Nauertnoted.
However, it did not concretize prior conditions for starting negotiations. In particular, Nauert did not reply to journalists’ question, whether DPRK’s commitment not to attack the Guam Island will be sufficient for it.
“They know what to do”, the department’s spokesperson emphasized.
