U.S. Department of Homeland Security applied measures, which will allow U.S. governmental structures to collect information on all immigrants from social media.
The new rule is already published in the Federal register, U.S. central edition The Hill informed on Tuesday, UKRINFORM reports.
The law applies to those who already permanently reside in the United States or are the naturalized citizen.
“The categories of registration entries are expanding, including: the country of citizenship, the country of residence, the registration number of US Citizenship and Immigration Services, social media accounts, pseudonyms, respective data, which will help identifying the person, the search results”, the document says.
It is also noted that this information will be considered in the Ministry of Justice, the Immigration Service and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
As reported, the rule will come into force on October 18, 2017.
