On Thursday, U.S. House of Representatives approved the draft law on providing the relief aid to the people, who suffered from hurricanes and floods, totaling USD 81 billion, as evidenced by the voting results.
Taking into account the previous aid, it is planned to increase the total amount of appropriation to unprecedented 130 billion dollars, RIA News reports.
The prospects of approval of the draft law before parliamentary holidays are still unclear, as the law had opposition in the Senate. President Donald Trump also did not say whether he will sign the draft law.
In 2017, for two months, the hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria slammed into U.S. and caused huge damages, first of all, in Texas and Puerto Rico. According to different estimates, the economic damage can reach up to 200 billion dollars.
