Uber’s Cofounder Garrett Camp will launch his own cryptocurrency Eco, he said during his interview with Fortune, Itc reports.
The non-commercial enterprise ECO Foundation, in which it is planned to invest 10 million dollars, will be created for implementation of this project. The financing will be provided through Camp’s own funds and some partners. According to Camp, Eco will be targeted at solving different problems, including technical problems, which exist in different projects, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Camp plans to launch 1 trillion tokens within several years, while half of them will account for the first billion of users, according to the interview. The fifth part of tokens will be reserved for users with verified nodes (in this case, researcher and universities), and the remaining 30% will be divided into equal parts between strategic partners around the world, consultants and Eco Foundation.
“We are at the design stage. We intentionally did not write the larger part of the code. Since we did not start digging into realization of this system, we want to attract more experts, researchers and scientists”, Camp also informed in the interview.
