U.S. authorities consider the possibility of imposing duties on imported Chinese products with the potential damages, totaling 30 billion dollars.
U.S. develops the proposal on imposition of duties on Chinese products, the damages from which for Chinese export to U.S. will amount to nearly 30 billion dollars per year, Correspondent.net reports, quoting Politico.
According to the edition, the new duties can become the response to China, which, according to U.S. version, violates the intellectual rights of U.S. manufacturers.
U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer became the initiator of this proposal.
It should be reminded that on March 8, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the order on imposition of import duties for steel and aluminum. The imported steel will be taxed at 25%, aluminum – 10%.
China stated that it will not initiate any trade war with U.S., but it can protect its interests and respond to any challenges.
