Pavel Durov considers that blocking Telegram poses threat to Russia’s security.
After blocking the messenger, Russian users will start applying alternative WhatsApp and Facebook, which are controlled by U.S., Telegram’s founder said, Correspondent reports.
Telegram’s ban will lower the level of the national security of Russia, Telegram’s Founder Pavel Durov made such statement on Monday, April 16 in Vkontakte.
According to him, due to blocking the messenger, the quality of life will worsen 15 million Russians, as Telegram without VPN can be sometimes unavailable.
In addition, despite blocking the messenger, the terrorist threat in Russia will remain at the same level, as the extremists will continue using decrypted communication channels – in other messengers, or through VPN.
Durov added that due to Telegram’s ban, some personal data of Russians will be transferred from the platform, neutral to Russia, U.S. controlled WhatsApp or Facebook.
