Facebook Inc. published the code of standards, which regulate the operation of its employees with the content, published in the social network, Reuters reports.
“On Tuesday, Facebook Inc. published the code of rules on the types of messages, the posting of which it permits in social media”, according to the message.
It is noted that during many years, Facebook had “public standards”, which regulate what content is permitted to be published in social media, and what – not. However, only relevant short and general versions of the code of rules were publicly available, while much more detailed internal document was in the company.
Currently, in its website, Facebook provided a fuller version of rules to eliminate confusion and be more open towards the work with content.
For the first time, the published rules will enable social media users to challenge the decision of moderators about removing some content. Previously, only the removal of accounts, groups and pages could be challenged.
It is noted that Facebook will also start explaining a competitive reason, as per which the content can be removed from public access.
