The veterinary services of Ukraine and U.S. agreed to continue close cooperation and activate bilateral communication for the effective decision of those questions, which are of common interest, the press office of the State Consumer Service reports.
“At the present week, the delegation of U.S. Department of Agriculture visited Ukraine. The purpose of this visit was the discussion of some questions, which are of common interest for the State Service of Ukraine in terms of Food Safety and Consumer Protection and U.S. competent authority. As part of the visit, the representatives of the delegation of the veterinary service of U.S. Department of Agriculture conducted several meetings with Chairman of State Consumer Service Volodymyr Lapa, the specialists of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine and International Cooperation Agency”, the message says.
During the meetings, U.S. side initiated the discussion of technical amendments to some veterinary certificates for importing some types of goods into Ukraine, in particular, the pet food, feed additives, poultry meat, technical gelatin (not for food) as well as milk and milk products. The specialists had fruitful technical discussion of these questions, as per results of which the respective decisions will be approved soon.
The representatives of the State Consumer Service, in their turn, raised the question regarding the status of consideration of Ukrainian application for exporting national poultry meat, the accreditation of which has continued within the last two years.
