IBM representatives informed about the start of cooperation with fintech start-up Veridium Labs for creating cryptocurrency on the blockchain platform Stellar.
This cooperation will allow these companies to trade with hydrocarbon loans to reimburse the losses, which their work could cause to the environment, cryptocoins.group reports.
All funds, proceeded from a new cryptocurrency sale, will be spent on restoring the part of rainforest, located on the Indonesian island Borneo.
Startup’s CEO Todd Limons noted: “For many years, we try to reduce negative impact on the environment in all chain dots; but we still have not managed to take effective decision due to certain difficulties. Our virtual ecological assets should provide assistance to investors and companies in selling and using hydrocarbon loans in order to reduce impact from their activities on the environment”.
