The ports of Odessa Oblast were checked
Minincomes took an inventory held in Odessa and Illichevsk Sea Commercial Ports, Illichevck fishing port and sea trading port "Southern", the press-service agency informs.
Ministry staff found in Ukrainian ports 553 containers, whose customs control timing was overdue. In this case, in 34% of these containers goods were damaged, and 7% "overdue" containers at Illichevsk commercial seaport did not open because of their obsolescence.
Check was conducted in the period from 8 to 22 July 2013 and concerned the containers which were in the port for more than 90 days.
According to the inventory, it was decided to keep accurate records of time spent by cargoes in seaports and organize their timely transfer of the warehouse of customs authority. Also they decided to make goods available in cases where the owner did not address them in a timely manner. It is about implementation, donation, recycling, or disposal of such goods.
Minincomes also plans to work with the consignee in order to accelerate their declaration and consider feasibility of amending legislation that will regulate presence of goods in port.
