Embark develops software for processing mass transit data
Apple bought Embark, company that produces software for working with data on public transport, allowing smartphone owners to get information about traffic routes, destinations and schedules in cities like New York, San Francisco, London etc, CyberSecurity informs.
This is Apple’s third large acquisition in 2013
Embark’s software will most likely be used to improve technological capabilities of Apple mapping.
Earlier during the presentation Apple's CEO Tim Cook stated that the company is always on the lookout for objects for acquisition and intends to have corporate purchases every month.
