Resolution adopted
The system of methodology of forensic expertise is being modernized. Indeed, over time, with the development of scientific and technological progress, some methods have become obsolete and have lost their relevance. This relates to methods in accounting and taxation, financial and business enterprises, building and technical, land and technology industries, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Olena Lukash commented Resolution «On introduction of changes to the procedure of certification and state registration of methodologies for forensic examination» adopted on 7 November 2013 at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the press service of the Ministry of Justice reports.
Resolution determines the procedure amending the techniques of forensic examinations that have been vetted for state registration and the procedure for suspending the use of certain techniques due to their loss of relevance.
Methodologies are included in the Register of methodologies for forensic examination, which is maintained by the Ministry of Justice and currently contains 1155 methods.
Methods included in the Register are used by research institutions of forensic examination of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, expert services of the Interior Ministry and the Security Service, private experts.
