The Lloyd's deals with insurance of virtual currency
There is a first storage server for Bitcoin in London that insures deposits in digital currency from theft and loss, as reported by BBC news.
Standalone server is called Elliptic Vault and works on the principle of a bank safe, which is not connected to the Internet. This service is relevant to investors who have large amounts of virtual money and fear for the safety of savings in electronic wallets. Stolen or lost Bitkoins can not be restored because all transactions in that currency are irreversible.
Elliptic Vault offers the insurance for users with Lloyd's company. Co-founder, Tom Robinson, said that they faced considerable difficulties when searching for an insurance company as Bitkoin is a young currency, the principle of which is not credible. However, the founders managed to protect virtual money savers. The Secret keys to access them are safely hidden in several places. The customer can track the movement of funds, as can pick up deposit at any time.
Earlier it was reported that the U.S. is considering awarding Bitkoin the status of national currency. Chinese authorities, however, have banned paying with virtual currency in their country.
