Last time the market appraised U.S. company at such amount on January 3, 2000.
Microsoft’s stock quotations increased by 0.4% and reached record USD 77.91 on Thursday. Since the beginning of this year, their price increased by 25.4% that may become an annual raise from 2013, Dow Jones notes.
The increase in value evidences Microsoft’s revival in the wake of its successes in cloud technologies, the experts note.
Microsoft ranks 3rd in terms of amount of capitalization after Apple Inc. ($800 bln) and Alphabet Inc. (about $690 bln) among the companies, which stocks are taken into account of Standard & Poor's 500 stock index.
