Last year, Amazon increased the investment volume in further developments by almost 50%. Despite that in 2016, the company was also the leader of U.S. market in the number of investments in development of new products, uazmi reports.
Alphabet, which invested $16.5 bln in 2017, ranks the second in the volume of investments in new developments. Intel ranks the third with the volume of investment in $13.1 bln.
Microsoft and Apple also ranked among top five - $12.3 bln and $11.6 bln respectively. Johnson& Johnson became the leader among non-technological companies – with the volume of $10.4 bln.
Meanwhile, U.S. companies are the leaders in some spheres. Last year, the global investments in startups, developing the artificial intelligence algorithms, reached $15.2 bln. Out of them, 48% accounted for China and only 38% - for U.S.
