IBM announced its plans to invest $1 billion in the development of products based on flash SSD memory.
IBM’s experts say the company wants to expand the base of existing servers and storage systems. The corporation announced to be launching Flash System - its first storage system without hard drives.
IBM will work on making FlashSystem720 і FlashSystem820 access data 20 times faster compared to hard drives.
Flash Systems will have 24 terabytes of usable storage.
